CDC reports on Cryptococcus gattii in Pacific Northwest

After Cryptococcus gattii infections started popping up in the Pacific Northwest in 2004, state, federal, and British Columbia health officials set up a working group to collect human and veterinary case information and isolates. Today in MMWR they reported that as of July they had received reports of 60 human cases of the fungal disease since January 2004 from four states: California, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. C gattii spores can colonize the nasal cavity and spread to other sites, causing meningitis, pneumonia, and the development of lung, brain, or muscle cryptococcomas. Treatment includes prolonged intravenous antifungal drug therapy and resection of infected lung or brain tissue. The highest proportion of cases was in people aged 50 to 69 years, and among 47 patients for whom medical history is known, 38 had underlying conditions, including 3 with HIV infections. C gattii infections were the cause of death in 9 cases, and the disease may have played a role in 6 other deaths. CDC experts said the emergence of the fungus in a temperate climate could mean the pathogen has adapted to a new niche or that climate warming may have created more favorable conditions for it to survive and spread. Other possibilities, they said, are that environmental conditions that support the fungus may be broader than previously known and that some cases might have occurred in the Northwest in the past but gone unnoticed. The CDC urged physicians to consider C gattii infections in patients who have cryptococcal disease symptoms and to ask patients about travel to areas where the pathogen is endemic.

Is the Fat Lady About to Sing?

The long winter flu season has passed and trees, bushes and flowers are budding out and you know that spring is in the air.  A joyful time of listening to songbirds sing their melodious songs.  It has always been a highlight in my life each year.   But is that all about to change?

For Educational Purposes Only  from FAZD

Scientists have discovered that 22 species of passerines–songbirds and perching birds–in the contiguous U.S. are carriers of low-pathogenicity avian influenza. Pathogenicity is the ability of a germ to produce an infectious disease in an organism.

The researchers report their results in the journal BMC Infectious Diseases.

The research is supported by the joint National Institutes of Health (NIH)-National Science Foundation (NSF) Ecology of Infectious Diseases (EID) Program. At NSF, EID is co-funded by the Directorates for Biological Sciences and Geosciences.

The prevalence of influenza in waterfowl has long been known.

But the researchers’ analysis of samples taken from 225 passerine species in 41 U.S. states indicates that the number of songbird species with low-pathogenicity avian influenza is greater than the number in eight other avian orders, including waterfowl.

“Avian influenza virus [AIV] is an important public health issue because pandemic influenza viruses in people have contained genes from viruses that infect birds,” says Trevon Fuller, lead author of the paper and a biologist at the Center for Tropical Research at UCLA.

“Some AIV subtypes have periodically mutated from low pathogenicity to high pathogenicity forms that are lethal, for example, to poultry.”

Since passerines share the same habitat as poultry, they may be more effective transmitters of this disease than aquatic birds to humans, Fuller says.

CeeZad! Plum Island Kansas Kick-Off Preceeds Biowarfare Executive Order

On June 28, 2010 Kansas State held its giant pathogen kick-off which purports to bring only the best and the brightest pathogens from around the world straight in cattle and farming country.

So you say you are not shaking in your boots yet? You will be when the first “Whoops” release occurs. Pathogens such as: foot-and-mouth disease virus, Ebola-Reston virus; the Porcine teschovirus ; lumpy skin disease from Afghanistan and Pakistan; as well as bugs from Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Dominican Republic, Congo and Mongolia.

As if bring in the world’s deadliest bugs is not enough on July 2 Barak Obama created and signed a new Executive Order:  Optimizing the Secutity of Biological Select Agents and Toxins in the United States.  This Executive Order increases experimentation with biological weapons and reducing the hurdles that scientist face as they pursue research on potentially dangerous microbes.

Accidental biological pathogen releases are quite common around facilities.  The more scientists play with these dangerous bugs the more likely they are to escape.  There is concrete evidence globally that most biological warfare facilities have in fact had numerous accidental releases.  So now we have a new facility in the heart of farming country and the relaxing of hurdles and precautions scientists face as they play with these bugs.  Instead of manure you can smell the money trail straight back to corrupt politicians.

10 Minute Activist:  Prepare a plan for your home for an accidental biological release.  And while you are at it call your representation, state and federal, and tell them you are against biological experimentation.

“Hey man! You want some ‘psychotropic’ raw milk?”

All images are for Educational Purposes.  They are from the NIAA Raw Milk presentations

Can I be frank? The government is down right lying to the American consumer that raw milk is dangerous and might even (you can just hear those conspiracy UFO’s humming) contain “bugs” that are double-agents as ‘psychotropic drugs’. The FDA and their public-private partner friends have come up with a new line to scare unwary consumers into believing that raw milk is a psychotropic drug and it kills babies. Is psychotropic anything  like psychedelic?  The only commonality is that they relax the body and mind, but we will get to that later.

The concept of milk being a psychotropic drug was introduced at the NIAA conference in March. The NIAA is the “Ag Conference” that directs US agricultural trends for the year at the behest of the OIE, self-appointed ‘Organization for Animal Health’; and the FAO, Food and Agricultural Organization, both branches of the United Nations. According to Dr. Vasavada, a speaker at NIAA, raw milk contains “less recognized” and “presumptive” pathogens. Just what are these pathogens and are they something about which the consumer needs to be aware?

Stop! Your Food is an ‘Unapproved Drug’

(NaturalNews) The Alliance for Natural Health, a nonprofit organization committed to protecting access to natural and integrative medicine, has recently come up with a Congressional bill designed to stop government censorship of truthful, scientific health claims about natural foods and herbs, and restore free speech to natural health. The Free Speech About Science Act (FSAS), also known as HR 4913, will allow manufacturers and producers to reference peer-reviewed, scientific studies that highlight the health benefits of a particular food or herb that they grow or sell.

UK MoD Report on the “Revolutionary Middle-Class”

New MoD Strategic Report Extends Vision to 2040

By Daniel Taylor – Old Thinker News

In 2006, the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense published the DCDC Strategic Trends 2007-2036 report, outlining possible scenarios for technology, society and world politics. Among other issues, the 2006 report accurately envisioned a “revolutionary middle class” that would revolt against economic hardship and burdens of debt, and described a future population implanted with brain chips. A new report from the MoD titled Global Strategic Trends – Out to 2040 was published in February of this year, and extends the Ministry’s strategic vision to 2040.

Amidst the 168 pages of the report, these are a few highlights. The newest MoD paper, drawing influence from its predecessor, describes rapid changes in society that threaten to “radicalize” individuals who seek to maintain traditions and beliefs, while a global elite “…sits above the level of individual states and influences the global agenda…” By 2040 the MoD envisions a “global society” plagued with tensions brought about by globalization, and high technology exaggerates differences between haves and have nots. The MoD report states,

“The social tensions caused by intrusive global culture are likely to be most acute amongst those who seek to maintain their indigenous and traditional customs and beliefs, and feel threatened by changes. This is likely to lead to an increasing number of individuals and groups, many of whom form around single issues that differentiate them from wider society, becoming marginalised and possibly radicalised.”

Report: Canned foods pose BPA health risk

By design and prophesied by public documents…canned foods that harm or kill, so agri-gov can control the food supply.

A new report issued by the National Workgroup for Safe Markets found that the chemical Bisphenol A (BPA) was present in 46 out of 50 canned food items the group tested, which amounts to 92 percent.
